At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"too many unecessary enhancements too complicated to do basic stuff"
I just have one question .... why? for the average person this is WAY overdone. I have been using word forever and am pretty savvy. It took me forever to write a simple paper. I would never buy this product and am planning on getting an older word
PROS: came free w/ my new computer
CONS: complex not intuitive, over done, incompatible w/ other word w/o patch

"The Whole World Defaults to Microsoft?"
It's a mess. That I expect from Microsoft. However, what I do not expect is for them to change defaults of everything, with no good reason. I don't need Microsoft to pick my fonts, my styles, my line spacing, and my file type. All this did was create
PROS: Can't think of any
CONS: Since when does the whole world operate on Microsoft defaults?

"Not worth it unless you are into graphics."
I run an an ghostwriting business, and Office 2070 was holding me back to the extent that I deleted it and copied back my old XP Pro: far superior to this. It seems to be designed for dummies that are unable to use graphics programs. It is certain
PROS: None for me - but OK for dummys that don't know how to handle graphics.
CONS: Everything - not for serious computing.

"worst piece of crap ever"
This is the worst and stupidest excuse for 'word processing' I've ever seen or attempted to use. I almost threw my new laptop out the window because of it - I have used the thing exactly twice during the trial period, and didn't take MS up on their
PROS: there are NO pros to this product. It is counterintuitive, and designed by squirrels, clearly.
CONS: its existence - useless and unnecessary

"How to Print"
After 10 minutes playing with Word I still couldn't find the print command. I ended up using the Adobe PDF menu and creating a PDF of the word file I was working on. I next opened the PDF in Adobe and printed it. I am concerned that there will be a l

"A pain to use"
All of the menu's and sub menu's are different. It is nearly impossible to find anything, even simple things such as the print and save button. It saves documents in strange formats. This product is a total mess that goes along well with windows vi

"Life's far too short!"
The transition from Word 2000 to 2003 was bad enough, but this is ridiculous. The folks at Microsoft don't seem to know the meaning of the word, "simplify". (Where, with 2003, removing the "markup" sidebar took one click, now it takes about ten. I lo
PROS: Does what it always did. Downright "pretty".
CONS: Does it much worse. Doesn't address a tenth of what I was hoping for.

There has never been a program that I have used that I have hated enough to warrant writing a review until now. I have been using Word 2007 for several months and I am constantly annoyed by it. Maybe I am too set in my ways, but navigation of the pr
