I have my issues with this book. It has a lot of good information and Schlains argument is compelling. However, there is really nothing to substantiate a lot of conjecture and he speaks as though he is using facts and only rarely uses...

Very good book, interesting and comprehensible. You don't need to be a scientist to understand the subject.I would suggest also reading "When God Was a Woman" and "The Chalice and the Blade", because the theme is related.

I have been a fan of Riane Eisler and her "Chalice and Sword" book on patriarchy. One thing that always puzzled me about her theory was that it did not explain how patriarchy came to the East. This work does. The two theories work...
