This is my first computer with vista. I have a pretty decent rig (scores 5.9), so I have not experienced any slow performance rumors. The os is visually stunning compared to xp. I bought the retail for the free upgrade to windows 7....

Great eye candy

....but very resource demanding. Make sure that you have lots of RAM, at least a dual core processor, and a decent video card. If you answered yes to all those afore mentioned options then this is the OS for you. As for me, I love it. XP...

"Unbelievably frustrating - on par for Window Vista!"

Install required support from tech support for 2 hours! Now will not reboot - total frustration with Microsoft - Apple here I come!!!!

"Terrible Experience"

My pc worked just fine on Vista. Then this SP1 sneaked in through an automatic update. Boot up slowed, Internet Explorer crashed and I could no longer view certain video clips.I deleted the SP through System Restore but other programs...

It's always good to install the latest code for any operating system, but installing Windows Vista SP1 will require some users to spend a few hours without any visible or tangible improvements to their systems...
