A New World of Music

All ages will be delighted and awed by this group of teenagers as they embark on a challenging voyage to share the universal language of beautiful, powerful music. Take an 18-day trip of a lifetime to South America with the New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Led by vibrant conductor Benjamin Zander, this group of 85 twelve to eighteen-year-olds share a voyage of discovery, of new lands, and new friendships. As the young musicians travel through busy cities and rural towns of Chile and Argentina, they experience the intensities and pressures of life on the road. Their tour ends in the magnificent city of Buenos Aires, where the orchestra has the honor and thrill of appearing in one of the premier concert houses in the world--the Teatro Colon. This memorable night is a fitting closure to a very successful tour, throughout which the teenage orchestra leaves behind and takes with them the greatest of impressions.  more
