Another Vote for Widescreen
I loved this western when it came out. An tight, elegant script by Lonesome Dove screenwriter Bill Witliff, plus a sense of landscape-as-psychology from Aussie director Fred Schepisi.

Old Mexico meets Western Texas
Willie Nelson is manificent in his portrayal of the red headed Barbarosa. Tale of a forbidden love and family revenge with continuing legacy. A few scenes are not suitable for children. Entertaining movie.
