Newt Call has come back to the town after living the past two years on the trail as a bounty hunter. Call is a man whose past has left its scars. Having left Curtis Wells a few nights after the explosion which killed his beloved Hannah, Call went on a downward spiral, aimless and soulless, eventually hitting bottom. Coming back to the town has reopened some of those old wounds for Call, not the least of which is his unresolved business with Clay Mosby, the man who coveted his wife before the fire took her. Mosby has made Curtis Wells his personal dominion. Behind his charming, roguish facade, he is a ruthless businessman, swift and severe with those who cross him, ready to shape the town to his own dark vision. good but not complete

the 5 dvd set was good but it is incomplete and leaves the resolution unsolved. Since this is the second of the "outlaw years" with 22 episodes, I was disappointed. What happens to the characters in a finale is not told. These episodes are good...

Lonesome Dove the Outlaw Years

I was personally very disappointed in this DVD. Newt has become a hard man after the death of Hannah and he spends the whole series killing with no emotion. There was also a lot of emphasis put on prostitution which for me was offensive.

Fantastic Series

My husband and I both enjoyed the Outlaw Years very much. Each segment was exciting and kept us interested the entire time. We have seen all of the Lonesome Dove movies now and have totally enjoyed them all. Great entertainment.
