Need to Know
This is a well written book with short,to the point bits of information. Think of it as a "Swiss Army" type of book, chock full of the informative 'bits' of info that distinguish a mariner form the landllubber. It's a quick study and easy to read and a great source to keep on hand. The short...

Good reference for new/novice boater
I am fairly new to boating and found this dictionary style book to be a good reference. All terms provide a true definition as well as some useful history. Worth the read.

Bluewater sailor
Great book. Interesting and very funy. When you sail for a while you notice that things like the "black Box" described in the book are true. Very good advises...good companion if you planning bluewater sailing.

Good for the novice
We enjoyed reading this book, but it wasn't what we had hoped. It is a better learning tool for the novice. The entries to the book are written in a alphabetical format. For example, entries about 'sails' are under S. We hoped it would be more of a non-fiction story form where one sailer's...

way over rated
This book has some definitions but, for the experienced boater, its a waste of shelf space. The "rules of thumb" are too brief to have any real value.
