From: Amazon Posted: Apr 15, 2008 Type: User Review Lots of Fish Photos from the Pacific

My wife and I are avid divers and this Reef Fish ID book is good. However, it is not quite the quality of Paul Humann's other reef guides.
On the plus side, there aree hundreds of photos. On the minus side, the photos are rather small. read full review | report as inappropriate

From: Amazon Posted: Oct 10, 2007 Type: User Review An ambitious work

This is a very ambitious work - the number of Indo-Pacific fish species illustrated is simply staggering, often showing regional variations and juvenile forms. On the other side, image quality and reproduction are often disappointing, and the...

From: Amazon Posted: Aug 01, 2006 Type: User Review Essential reef guide for the Asian Pacific region.

This is an outstanding fish ID manual for the Pacific and Indian ocean region. It beats out others books of a similar nature with the number of photos (6 on every page for a total of over 2,500 pics) and the helpful identification notes below each...

This book revolutionised fish ID in the tropical South Pacific when it first came out. We live and work in Fiji in the marine environment and have 4 of these on our shelf (for use of staff in the field as well as office)

The only...

From: Amazon Posted: Jun 01, 2006 Type: User Review Great ID book

This book is great! It uses full color photos and even has tips to help distinguish between similar fish. It is rather big and may be difficult to travel with, but has tons of great information.

From: Amazon Posted: Aug 14, 2005 Type: User Review A fish-watcher's bible

An excellent resource for identifying fish. My husband has a new underwater camera and we compared the fish in his photos to the fish in the book to identify the unknown ones. Scuba divers familiar with Paul Humann's books for the Caribbean will...

From: Amazon Posted: Jul 08, 2005 Type: User Review Tropical Pacific Reef Fish Identification

Mostly a really good imitation of the original. Downsides are that this book isn't spiral bound and a few of the darker photos are blury and/or too dark to get a good idea of what to look for when diving. Otherwise, you get what you paid for.
