I bought 4 of these units. They always did not work with each other, even when I cloned one from another. Sometimes the alphanumeric tags were truncated. They did not seem as reliable as advertised. The range was nothing special either.

The review that claims the user needs a FCC license to use a Motorola radio is plain wrong. Yes, you do need a license to broadcast on the spectrum the Motorola radios use - just like you need a license to broadcast on the spectrum cell phones...
