Three years in...
Had this set for three years. I only put it out for the holidays. One of the other reviewers mentioned that it's a bit heavy for the motor and this is quite true. There is no 'slow' operation. The curved track pieces could be manufactureda bit better...they can be a challenge to get together. All...

Best to look to another brand
We've had the same set with Christmas colors for three years. After the first year, the "whistle" unit (housed in the tender) no longer worked. And about 10 minutes into running the second year, the engine stopped. Found that the engine was wired so that the power wire was rubbing a drive...

POORLY MANUFACTURED AND NO TECH HELP FOR BROKEN TRAIN
CHRISTMAS DAY THE TRAIN TRANSFORMER DID NOT GIVE POWER TO THE TRAIN SET. ALL CONNECTIONS WERE VERIFIED AS WAS THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET TO VERIFY PROPER CONNECTIONS. IT STILL DID NOT WORK. THE ONLINE MERCHANT GAVE ONY 14 DAYS FROM DATE IT WAS SHIPPED TO RETURN FOR DEFECT, AND LIONAL WAS CLOSED...
