A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander)
Since the initial publication of Outlander fifteen years ago, Diana Gabaldon’s New York Times bestselling saga has won the hearts of readers the world over — and sold more than twelve million books. Now, A Breath of Snow and Ashes continues the extraordinary story of 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his 20th-century wife, Claire.
The year is 1772, and on the eve of the American Revolution, the long fuse of rebellion has already been lit. Men lie dead in the streets of Boston, and in the backwoods of North Carolina, isolated cabins burn in the forest.
With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the backcountry and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence — with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie’s death, along with his kin. For once, he hopes, his time-traveling family may be wrong about the future.

Loved it!
I really loved this book in the series. I was disappointed with Fiery Cross and was hoping that this one would redeem. It did! It was a treat to read it! Can't wait for the next one!!!

Great Ending to the Outlander Series
I'm finally done! Whew! I read the whole series and I thought the last, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, was just as good as the others. I do wish that it wasn't as quickly tied up at the end, jumping around, without the final word on what happened to...

6th Book Does Not Disappoint
After reading the first five Voyager series books, I was thrilled with this book. It tied up so many loose ends from the other books and gave an even more intimate look at the characters. This is one of the better books in an excellent series of...

Satisfying, as usual
Gabaldon paints her books with thick color. Her characters are so well-developed that I feel I know them all very well. A Breath of Snow and Ashes closes some questions left from earlier volumes, and rounds out some character detail. I don't...

I have never before read a series where the author exceeds my expectations. This series owned me from the very first read. I loved the characters, her writing style has always been great. How she has gone from great to superb is amazing to...

Again satisfied....
If you have read all of the other "Outlander" books, and are still compelled to read more of Jamie and Claire, you will not be dissapointed. I think some of the reviews I read were extemely harsh in disfavor of Ms Gabaldon's latest editions, I...

Wrapping up details?
Although this book is not perfect, it certainly does wrap up the story. There are a few unaswered questions that I have, such as: after the fire DIDN'T happen, why did they not investigate further? And if I were a time traveler to Colonial...

Another great addition to the series
This book does not disappoint. It is long, but I savored every page. The descriptions of rural early America make you feel like you are there, and the characters remain true to themselves. The adventures seemed realistic, which I've found may...

Another Outlander series winner
This book like all of Diana Gabaldon's was engrossing. It was SO hard to put down & took me right back into Jamey's & Clare's world. The book arrived quickly & in perfect shape.
