A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander)
Since the initial publication of Outlander fifteen years ago, Diana Gabaldon’s New York Times bestselling saga has won the hearts of readers the world over — and sold more than twelve million books. Now, A Breath of Snow and Ashes continues the extraordinary story of 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his 20th-century wife, Claire.
The year is 1772, and on the eve of the American Revolution, the long fuse of rebellion has already been lit. Men lie dead in the streets of Boston, and in the backwoods of North Carolina, isolated cabins burn in the forest.
With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the backcountry and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence — with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie’s death, along with his kin. For once, he hopes, his time-traveling family may be wrong about the future.

Gabaldon
I bought this for my wife. This is her third time through the series. She decided that it is easier to buy them than to continue to check them out at the local library, as she intends to read the series several more times. It must be really good.

A Physically Painful Experience
At a thousand pages, (I got the hardcover from the library), I have to say that this book was the most physically painful read since, well, 'The Fiery Cross', *sigh*

I love Diana Gabalbon! She paints such a story that you feel your right there with the characters. I wish that all the unabridged audio books in this series were available at Amazon.

Once again Diana Gabaldon has done a wonderful job of captivating her audience with the continuation of the Outlander series in this book. Her discriptive writing makes you feel as though you are there with each character. This book as the others...

A great spoken word interpretation of one of my favorite authors
Audiobook is a great way to enjoy the sixth and most recent volume in Diana Gabaldon's popular Outlander series. A Breath of Snow and Ashes has an episodic structure rather than one overarching story line. The spoken word format makes the...

Good Reading
This series was written well. I had an easy time getting into the characters. Sometimes too wordy but overall a great read if you like a little mystical twist in your books.
