Fantastic! Can't put it down, up till 2 a.m., adventure, thriller, who-done-it master piece. Puts The DaVince Code way back in the pack, and did it 20 years ago!! No wonder much of Europe considers it one of the top 10 books of the last century.... read full review | report as inappropriate
This book was a pain to finish. It could have been a really good book though, given the historical setting. I don't really like jumping between timelines because it just breaks the momentum of the novel. But hey, I've seen some book that do that... read full review | report as inappropriate
I enjoyed the historic references of this book. Probably not historically accurate, but definetely entertaining. The ending was a bit too much for me being an adult an all, but it was better than not reading anything at all. read full review | report as inappropriate

I had to buy the books after watching the first season on CBS. I loved teh show so much I checked out the first book at the library and instantly feel in love. The books (as always) are much better than the series. The author has quite a gift... read full review | report as inappropriate
I simply couldn't put "Darkly Dreaming Dexter down, why not prolong my ecstacy and order the sequel? "Dearly Devoted Dexter" Doesn't Disappoint, in fact, you probably won't put it down until you pass out or your eyes begin twitching from overwork,... read full review | report as inappropriate
It's book two review and I'm still a Dexter fanatic. I'm still thinking I should have read all the books before watching the show because Michael C. Hall's portrayal of Dexter is better than Book Dexter, in my humble opinion. I still... read full review | report as inappropriate

As someone who grew up in a mill down in Maine that is in decline, I can attest to easily recognizing the fictitious town of Empire Falls, Maine. The novel tells the story of Miles Roby, the owner of the Empire Grill, as he discovers the truth... read full review | report as inappropriate
I was looking for a good fiction novel since I mostly read non-fiction. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a Pulitzer Prize winner. I was wrong. Not only that, it eventually became a chore to read. Too many stories within a story and too many... read full review | report as inappropriate
VERY disturbing child abuse and animal abuse. The story was good but I wish there was a rating system for books (like the movies) to warn you that the book contains explict violent material. read full review | report as inappropriate

Rivalling Aldous Huxley and others in terms of ideas and the themes of slavery, consumerism, science, medicine, art ... but I go on and don't mean to. Let's just say this work is ripe for appreciation by senior high school students so rich is it.... read full review | report as inappropriate
I was so disappointed. I love Ishiguro's earlier work. But this story almost bored me to tears. There's none of the suspense and hunger a reader feels when they pick up The Handmaid's Tale. The narrator Kathy is by far one of the worst... read full review | report as inappropriate
There's a moment in Never Let Me Go near the beginning, when Ruth invites Kath to play with her invisible horse, Bramble. "I accepted the invisible rein she was holding out," Kath says in Ishiguro's unshowy, almost titrated, prose, "and then we... read full review | report as inappropriate

Angels and Demons is Dan Brown's prequel to The DaVinci Code, taking place approximately one year before the events in his best selling novel. The incidents in this book are hinted at in The DaVinci Code and only help to whet the appetite, and... read full review | report as inappropriate
While we all love a good yarn, full of adventure, Brown's prose is like slogging through quicksand. With cliches. It's totally unbelievable and poorly written on a literary level. It got me to the end, and I was curious to see how it turned... read full review | report as inappropriate

I found this book very easy to read, and was intrigued by the concept of the Copper Scroll and following the clues to an ancient secret. It seemed a little like "National Treasure" in that aspect. The unfolding of the mystery was well done.
