great idea
Along the lines of 'One Second After', the "disaster" is a series of EMP's that basically shuts down the world as we know it. This was actually more enjoyable than 'OSA', but it does have a sort-of sideline murder that isn't all that interesting. I've thought about this scenario and what would...

Beware; this book is in large print
Just so you know, the book referred to on this page is a large print edition. Scroll down from the top (where the picture and title is) and further down you'll see publisher info, book size, etc and it says large print. I didn't know that until mine came in the mail.

Captivating- hard to put down
What if---- everything electronic suddenly stopped working? Airplanes fall from the sky, cars stall in the freeway, lights, computers, furnaces, refrigerators, air conditioners- everything suddenly quiets and stops working. Life as depended upon- as we've always lived it must change- and we...

Last Light Lags
Blackstock shines in her characters and description. Yet these things are not enough to revive the book series. The first 3 or 4 chapters of this book were riveting. Then, slowly, chapter after chapter, the story sags and becomes predictable and mediocre. The remaining books in this series are...

Exciting premise-but was a let down
I thought the plot of this series sounded fascinating, and I still do. However,I don't think I have ever read a book where the main Christian characters showed such a poor example of the Christian walk as the Banning family! To put it plainly, their walk is pretty much non-existent!For one thing...

excellent
Terri Blackstock really captures the essence of human nature while creating a superb suspense story. She makes you think about your relationship with God and how you would react in the event of a unexplained disaster. Absolutely page turning, don't stop reading until the end book.

The End of the World...
...or maybe just the beginning.Last Light landed in my lap via a recommendation from my mother. Strictly based on her word that I should read the book, I picked it up unsure of what might lie beneath the jacket. As I started reading, I soon found myself swept into the story within. The idea of...

Pretty Good Read
I originally purchased this book for my dad, but ended up finding something else to give him as a gift and kept it for myself. I didn't read the summary of the book, just saw it at the local Christian book store and thought that he would enjoy a series by a "#1 suspense author."I brought it with...

Engossing
By the end of the Last Light I was hooked and had to devour the rest the series. I have to say that the first book gave me uncomfortable dreams -- but that's me. I found myself dreaming about where I was going to get water. [smile] I found the books engrossing, provacative and convicting. It...
