Dearly Devoted Dexter
JEFF LINDSAY is the author of Darkly Dreaming Dexter. He lives in South Florida with his wife and three daughters.
Life’s tough for Dexter Morgan. It’s not easy being the world’s only serial killer with a conscience, especially when you work for the Miami police. To avoid suspicion, Dexter’s had to slip deep into his disguise: spending time with his girlfriend and her kids, slowly becoming the world’s first serial killing couch potato.
Then a particularly nasty psychopath starts cutting a trail through Miami — a killer whose twisted techniques leave even Dexter speechless. When his sister Deborah, a tough-as-nails cop, is drawn into the case, it becomes clear that Dexter will have to do come out of hiding and hunt the monster down. Unless, of course, the killer finds him first. . .

This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

cruel and sadistic book
The entire tone of this book is cruel and sadistic: not just in the attitude of Dexter, but in the self-centered and unempathic nature of all of the characters. For example, early on in the book, a man who has been horrible tortured is found, but...

Better than the Showtime TV Serie (Caution!!! Spoiler!!!)
Great reading, always got you on the edge, with the suspense of what it may happen and the funny punchlines of our favorite sociopathic justice avenger. Try not to get confused reading it while watching the tv series you may see characters that...

disappointing - WAY better writing on the showtime series
Granted, I didn't read the first Dexter book ... I was hooked by the Showtime series and while waiting for the second season I read this book. I was greatly disappointed. The writing was barely mediocre and the storyline was quite forgettable....

Almost as good as the first Dexter novel
"Dearly Devoted Dexter," a sequel to the brilliant "Darkly Dreaming Dexter," is nearly as good as its predecessor (I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the 1st in the series is slightly better). The adventures of the likeable psychopath...

Goosebumps CITY!
Love Jeff Lindsay! He's my new favorite...used to be David Wiltse & Thomas Harris...no more! But try David Wiltse if you haven't - I recommend starting with Close to the Bone :) Dexter books are a very quick read, but that's okay...with this...

Mesmerizing
I'm new to recorded books. Previously, I've thought recorded books are for people who can't read... just kidding. All seriousness though, Nick Landrum, the narrator for the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay is a great choice. He doesn't over animate...
