Dearly Devoted Dexter
JEFF LINDSAY is the author of Darkly Dreaming Dexter. He lives in South Florida with his wife and three daughters.
Life’s tough for Dexter Morgan. It’s not easy being the world’s only serial killer with a conscience, especially when you work for the Miami police. To avoid suspicion, Dexter’s had to slip deep into his disguise: spending time with his girlfriend and her kids, slowly becoming the world’s first serial killing couch potato.
Then a particularly nasty psychopath starts cutting a trail through Miami — a killer whose twisted techniques leave even Dexter speechless. When his sister Deborah, a tough-as-nails cop, is drawn into the case, it becomes clear that Dexter will have to do come out of hiding and hunt the monster down. Unless, of course, the killer finds him first. . .

Can't wait to read more darling, delightful Dexter
I read the first book yesterday, and this book today. My interest came from the series, which I am really enjoying. This book is surprisingly light hearted given the subject matter, but that makes it all the better. The author has succeeded in...

A few more slides for Dexter...
Dexter returns with his perfect life... good job, girlfriend, friends, and family. Too bad it is all a well played part as internally he dreams of cutting up the bad guys. It is interesting to note that Dexter also sees himself as a bad guy as he...

Good, not great
I carefully waited until the excellent second season of Dexter's Showtime series ended before picking up this, but did so with great anticipation. Dexter is a very interesting and multifaceted character and I was eager to get back into his warped...

Fun and intriguing
It's great that the Showtime TV Series does not follow the books exacty; this makes the audio books even more intriguing as you don't know what's going to happen next. Dexter is great!

If I wasn't laughing so hard, I'd be crying
"Dearly Devoted Dexter" is a seriously nasty novel. About 80% of what I've read for the past decade of my life has fitted into either the crime or the horror genre and this is one of the most disturbing and unpleasant novels that I have read in...

DARLING DEVILISH DEXTER...
With Dexter Morgan, the author has created one of the most memorable characters around. Moreover, he has managed to make the reader really like Dexter, no mean feat, given the fact that Dexter is a serial killer, albeit one who only offs bad...

A Great Follow-Up
The Dexter series of books is improving with each new novel. This one is a definite improvement and continuation of the first, but still hasn't found it's true stride yet since it's only the second book in the series.

Worth buying used
Worth getting half priced for a quick summer read. Lot of potential, but the conclusion reminded me of writing college papers and getting so sick of the subject that I chopped the ending awkwardly short.

Cool concept, good villain and it went nowhere...
After pushing through the first book I decided maybe the series will improve. In some ways it did. Dexter's got issues with one cop harassing him daily and a new serial killer (it's not exactly a killer is it?) who does the most unusual things...

Hilariously Macabre"
Loved this book even more than the 1st. Does not follow the series on TV, but it is very entertaining if you love the idea of a serial killer only killing people who truly deserve it, which I do. The author somehow tells of very gruesome murders...
