Wicked Lovely
Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty—especially if they learn of her Sight—and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost—regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st century faery tale.
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Mostly mediocre, but has its moments
Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely is a modern faery tale incorporating a lot of clearly well researched myths about the Sidhe courts, but a Holly Black (Tithe, Valiant, Ironside) she is not. Her heroine, Aislinn, is a young girl with the ability to...

Not your typical fairy tale...
I've been spoiled by the amount of fantasy regarding fairies! This is another one of the bunch, but strikingly different in some aspects.

Fairies & Romance
I rated it 3 stars because even though I really liked the book and the way it was written for a lot of the plot I could guess what was going to happen and that is why I gave it 3 stars unstead of 4.

Chilling. Fated. Grotesque. Beautiful. Desperate.
What an incredible and amazing book. I almost passed it by, it being a YA book and all, but decided on a whim that it sounded too good to leave for teens.

YA Fantasy with Romance
Wicked Lovely's main character Aislinn can see faeries, sort of elemental spirits that live all around us, and has spent most of her life avoiding them. They are fickle and dangerous and play with humans as if they were objects.
