The Wee Free Men

A nightmarish danger threatens from the other side of reality . . .

Armed with only a frying pan and her common sense, young witch-to-be Tiffany Aching must defend her home against the monsters of Fairyland. Luckily she has some very unusual help: the local Nac Mac Feegle?aka the Wee Free Men?a clan of fierce, sheep-stealing, sword-wielding, six-inch-high blue men.

Together they must face headless horsemen, ferocious grimhounds, terrifying dreams come true, and ultimately the sinister Queen of the Elves herself. . . .

An excellent children's book for all ages!

As a Pratchett fan, I knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before I eventually picked up the Tiffany Aching books. I put it off for a while because I've heard both good & negative things about the books, most of the...

Not just for kids

I steered away from all these Tiffany Aching Discworld books because I read they were for young adults and besides, the name "Tiffany Aching" conjures up such a horrible teenager (I can just imagine some Valley Girl dripping with sarcasm...

Another success in the Discworld series

This book is written for young readers in mind, but it can be enjoyed at any age. This book is well-paced, imaginative, informative (teaches one or two words not in most vocabularies), original, and expertly written. This fantasy takes...

Crivens! Pratchett does it again!

This book may be marketed to YA or Children, but I can't think of a woman who wouldn't enjoy it - not that men won't like it, but it's just so rare to find a story of a smart little girl who no one notices that ends up saving the world...

Not as good as the hype...

This was certainly no Harry Potter. It was a cute little story, mind you, but I don't think it was as fabulous as the reviews lead you to believe. I was very excited when I got it. I love fairy tales, and the idea that this one...
