The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 2)

Percy Jackson?s seventh-grade year has been surprisingly quiet. Not a single monster has set foot on his New York prep-school campus. But when an innocent game of dodgeball among Percy and his classmates turns into a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants, things get . . . well, ugly. And the unexpected arrival of Percy?s friend Annabeth brings more bad news: the magical borders that protect Camp Half-Blood have been poisoned by a mysterious enemy, and unless a cure is found, the only safe haven for demigods will be destroyed.

In this fresh, funny, and hugely anticipated follow up to The Lightning Thief, Percy and his friends must journey into the Sea of Monsters to save their beloved camp. But first, Percy will discover a stunning new secret about his family -- one that makes him question whether being claimed as Poseidon?s son is an honor or simply a cruel joke.  more

Great for Teen Boys!

I can only say that I could not get my Son to read at all. He was told by his 7th grade English Teacher that he HAD to pick a book and bring it to class every day. I did some research and came across this series. He is now on book 2 and I am happy to say, he is still thoroughly enjoying it. I...

He's baa...ack. Percy Jackson, that is.

In the second installment of the Olympians series, Percy Jackson joins forces with a new companion, a Cyclops and oh-by-the-way-he's-a-half-brother--Tyson. Together, they undertake a quest to find a cure for the poison that has left Camp Half-Blood vulnerable to attack. This series, based on the...

As good as the first

Not too many sequels are as good as the first book but Riordan does it again. I don't like to read and I can't seem to put these books down. Never a dull moment, suspense, humor, action, adventure, this book has it all. Hope number 3 is as good.

The Sea of Monsters is the second book in the series and is a very entertaining and easy book to read. Percy is a demi god or a child of a god human creation. They have a haven to retreat to when it is summertime because they get chased by monsters trying to eat them. When Percy goes to the camp...
