Why does this series go un-noticed
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is a top notch teenage-young adult action fantasy.I'm not an avid reader, due to the fact that I, unfortunately, always think there is something better to do than sitting down and spending and hour or two reading a book. However, if every book I read...

Best Book Ever
Nick Merino10/2/09L.A Mrs.McReynolds 1st periodBook ReviewI have been to New York a couple of times but it has never been so real than how Rick Riordain described it in the book The Lightning Thief. Also, the depiction of the Greek myth feels, so real, it is like I could just go out and touch...

A good start to the series, but...
This is a good starting book of a young adult series. Full of adventure and clever dialogue, it was pretty entertaining. Definitely helps to have a basic understanding of Greek mythology (or else some of the jokes won't seem so funny!). I can see how this book would hold great appeal for middle...

Couldn't Put It Down
This was a very good book. Not only was this book good, but all the others are as well. This series was much better than the Harry Potters for sure, and I only bring that up because both series appeal to the same age group and are comparable in that the main character is a young boy with a huge...

You have to try it
I'm 30+ years old and love the Harry Potter series. Since the end of that wonderful series, I've been reading "children fiction" in search of another entertaining series but most have ended in disappointment. I'm glad to say however that Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is quite...

FUN!
FUN! That's the best way to describe this read. Just plain old, good fun. I loved Percy and Annabeth and Grover. They were awesome. The extras were hilarious. Mr. D had me laughing the entire time. The plot was full of twists and mystery that kept me guessing until the end. I can't wait to see...

Excellent souce of beginning childen on Mythology
This is an excellent book to begin students on a love of Mythology. Following mythological writing guidelines, the author introduces modern day youth to a very old structure. The Greek (and Roman) gods and goddesses are presented in traditional mythological adventure style through a...

Oh...WOW!
Even though I am much older from the reading level ages, I was looking for a genuine fantasy action and adventure story which I found this book in my middle/high school library. I couldn't believe how good was the book and more surprising, how much I gobbled it up. I haven't read like that since...
