At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.

This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

From: Amazon Posted: Jan 17, 2008 Type: User Review Fair Warning-- Two Bands Called "Mono"

Not so much a review as a heads up... There is an (in my opinion) amazing post-rock band from Japan called Mono. This is not their music. This Mono is a Euro-house/ downtempo outfit. As the Japanese band is far more critically acclaimed, it is...

From: Amazon Posted: Jan 16, 2008 Type: User Review Formica Blues - a timeless album

I bought this CD almost 10 years ago now and I must say, it never gets old. I can't really compare it to anything... Although some may compare it to Portishead, I wouldn't because the harsh, cold sounds isn't there. It has a melancholic feel to it...

From: Amazon Posted: Aug 19, 2007 Type: User Review Wrong Mono!

I couldn't believe what I had done after picking this album up. I had only glanced at the artist before buying it, as I was on a sort of music buying spree at the time, and had not realised this was not the Mono I was looking for! I had thought...

From: Amazon Posted: May 14, 2007 Type: User Review Worth Repeating

From: Amazon Posted: Jan 22, 2007 Type: User Review I revolution that never took full form

Portishead, Olive, Esthero, Poe, Fionna Apple sound can be completely thought about with this album. Quite a bit off kilter than the others, but a contolled adventure. Mono has a varied sound enhanced by her voice.

There is much...

From: Amazon Posted: Oct 27, 2006 Type: User Review i'm sure noone will agree with me on this, but i don't care one bit...

I happen to enjoy this album much more than I do Portishead's "Dummy". Funny how people mention this album/group being overrated: I see Portishead as being the overrated one... "Sour Times" was the only PH song i really liked, and that got...

From: Amazon Posted: Aug 15, 2006 Type: User Review Amazing Despite de Mare's Lame Lyrics

The lushness and smooth, flowing sounds of this CD are what have kept me coming back to this CD for the past 10 years. Listening to them transports you back to 1965 and Bakelite telephones that never ring when you want a call from your man in his...
