Verilux TwiLight Mini Sleep Lamp

Prepare yourself for the wonders of the Blue Light Therapy Sleep System! Many studies have shown that the occurrence of sleep disturbance increases with age. The natural Circadian rhythm that regulates your body's sleep cycles can be thrown off by spending more time indoors as we age. Even young children can experience difficulty falling asleep and experiencing a restful slumber. Instead of seeking relief from potentially dangerous drugs, people everywhere are looking for natural alternatives. The new Twilight Mini Ultra Blue Light Therapy Sleep System provides excellent blue light exposure that has been shown to optimize the re-calibration of the body's Circadian rhythm. Placing this compact device in your bedroom and activating its soothing blue light for 30-60 minutes prior to falling asleep will help you fall asleep faster and experience a more satisfying slumber. Young children and infants can also benefit from bathing their bedroom in the soft glow of blue light prior to falling asleep. And the Twilight System remains cool to the touch, so it's safe to use. ABS Plastic construction. Assembly level/degree of difficulty: Easy. A restocking fee will be deducted if this item is returned.  more

Had to send it back

I only tried it for about four days in a row. For those same four days, I noticed a high-pitched buzzing sound in my room. When I finally figured out it was coming from the lamp while turned "off", I sent it back. I was so desperate that I was willing to pay eighty dollars for a blue light to...

Bad Idea!

I strongly agree with the preceding review. All scientific research indicates that this type of light is helpful first thing in the morning, certainly not at night!!! This type of light actually signals the brain to destroy the lingering melatonin which is a hormone that makes you sleepy....

Waste of a first paycheck.

Broke after two weeks and I couldn't return it. It didn't really do anything for me at all in the brief period during which it was functioning properly. Total waste of money.

Wow -- can this be true?

First don't listen to the reviewer that says you can only use in the morning. While you CAN use in the morning you can also use 2-3 hours before you go to bed. I have been having trouble with insomnia for months now. So much that I was afraid i was addicted to Ambien since I needed it every...

Bad instructions

The instruction to use this light at night before going to bed is wrong. Full spectrum, especially blue light, suppresses melatonin production. That is the hormone that rises just before sleep and falls again towards the end of sleep. Exposing yourself to light before bed would shift your...

Very interesting device

I bought this for my wife who has trouble getting a good nights sleep. The lamp was easy to set up and looks pretty cool when active. The light is pretty intense even on the low setting. At first my wife did not like the brightness but is getting used to it. Too soon to tell if it has helped...

varilux twilight therapy sleep system

Y'know? I was having a LOT of difficulty falling and staying asleep. My family doc prescribed the usual stuff, like Ambien and even Dalmane, but I'd take the stuff at 7:30 and still be reading/watching TV or whatever well into near midnight, when I just gave up and lay in my bed. One day, she...
