I wanted privacy in public places and on Airplanes, and the filter seems to help. I am using this on a Sony SZ770 with the LED Backlight. It does dim the screen 10-15%, which is enough to require increasing the default battery screen...

- trade-off of darkened screen?
Effectively blocks periferial views of the screen, but darkens the screen considerably. Very difficult to remove. Requires tape on the sides to keep properly in place. But as far as I know, there is no better alternative.
