Yamaha YST-SW216 10 in 100 Watt Subwoofer Black - YSTSW216BL

The YST-SW216BL Active Subwoofer sets the standard for subwoofers in this class with high dynamic power and low-noise performance thanks to Advanced YST II, a Linear Port, front-firing design, plus many other sophisticated features. Advanced YST II combines negative impedance and constant-current principles to drive the speaker cone with even tighter control than before. This system dynamically optimizes effective speaker impedance to maintain excellent linearity. This means more stable and accurate low range response for more natural and energetic bass reproduction.  more

Great thump for your Buck

This unit gives better than average performance when viewing movies but has a little difficulty with certain types of music such as metal with fast drumbeats. Overall a great value for the money spent.

Dont let the price fool you

This little sub is one powerful piece in my home theater/media/pc setup. For the price you will not find a better deeper sub, its true that it doesnt go to ear busting concert decibel levels but what you get is smooth accurate bass compareable to my old infinity 12inch sub. I already have two...

Great bang for the buck

I bought this after my previous Infinity sub blew during a brown out. Make sure you use proper surge protection, kids! :)This sub has tight, punchy bass in my 15 x 25 basement viewing area. I have it coupled with Boston Acoustics bookshelf speakers and an Integra receiver in a 5.1 setup. I...

CANT BEAT PRICE

I am very pleased with this subwoofer, cant beat the price, it has plenty of power, attractive and has really good sound, but it isn't going to be overpowering, dont recommend for someone that wants crazy bass (Buy a 12inch sub or 15inch)It is replacing a smaller subwoofer, from a 600watt kenwood...

Strong Subwoofer for the price!

The YST-SW216BL performs flawlessly with a full bass in rooms of moderate size. It is priced very competively and carries Yamaha quality.

Not powerful and no auto power control

It does work to certain degree. But it serverly lack of power. I have a Yamaha amplifier provide 100W to each channel. The last 100W DLH subwoofer failed after few years use. So I thought I would replace with this one also 100W in power.I was wrong. This unit can produce more like 15W. In...

Great value in a low priced unit

I am not an audiophile, thus my evaluation of the Yamaha YST-SW216 is obviously based on criteria different from those an aficionado would use. My measurement standards are simple: 1) does it produce a lot of bass, and 2) if I turn the volume to maximum, will the neighbors complain? In answer...

Excellent! Very pleased with this thumper!

I am not an audiophile as one other reviewer mentioned, but I was very happy with what I would call thundering bass in my 23' x 24' room with 9' cielings. I have the volume on about 1/3 level. This thing blows my old 8" Infiniti sub away.I'm very pleased...and all at a great price. Don't hesitate...
