At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"I had expected something better"
Okay, being a devout AOE II fan, I was expecting a lot better. However, I had so many problems installing the game that the excitement I had built up for it when it actually worked collapsed in on itself. The game is nothing new to the genre. The des
PROS: looks nice, and hey, it is Age of Empires

"Best Real-Time Strategy I've Played"
I loved AoE II. If you loved Aoe II as well, you will love this game. Great graphics + amazing gameplay + free online gaming = the best strategy game on the market, in my opinion. I absolutely love how the civilizations are balanced but very differen
PROS: Improves on an already stellar Age of Empires series.
CONS: Playing online has a "failed to connect" bug, happens less now - see review

"I love the game"
I love the game. The graphics are great, and I love the addition of home cities. It gives the game another reason to keep playing, as the experience gained in one game will carry over to another. Other leaders can talk to you, which makes the game mo
PROS: Great graphics, novel idea of home cities, addition of other leaders' personalities give the game heart, and the free online play is good
CONS: The campaign is rather hackneyed

Great Game, good control... but a bit pricey
Great game and solid controls, nothing less than what you would expect if you played the previous games in the series. The only game in the same league as this one (Strategic Action game that is) would probably Warcraft. Both games Are similar...
PROS: entertainting, great sequel, same great strategic action

Not the same old game is a bad thing sometimes
Good game for a short period but wait till it hits the bargain bin.
PROS: New customization for city shipped goods.
Customizable home port.
Hero abilities slightly customizable.
Solid RTS franchise.
CONS: Too focused on short era.(this is the biggie that caused me to trade it in at ebgames)
Heroes real-time abilities take turn-based time to strategically implement.
Minor graphical glitches.
Troop AI needs improvement, but that can be said for almost every

"If you can get past the ridiculous story line, it's a solid game."
Did Microsoft fire all of it's historical consultants for this installment of the AoE series? The first two games had excellent contextual information for the time setting and locations. I was expecting more of the same, but was disapointed by a...
PROS: Good background music and sound effects. Large number of units. Lots of countries to choose from. Quick load times.
CONS: Cheesy storyline.

PROS: The Graphics, Visuals, and realism were excelent
CONS: The worst game play ever. Very Boring. Unique Units to similar. Poor strategy game.

"another polished remake"
seeing the MS has the monopoly in the computer OS arena, you would THINK it could churn out better than this! There is not enough to justify taking up shelf space if you have any previous versions of the game.
PROS: better graphics
CONS: same 'ol with nothing to surprise
