Understanding Body Building Nutrition & Training: Practical, Quick Reference, Answers to Common...
This book is ideal for the non reader, the person who neither has the time no patience to sift through chapter after chapter looking for an author's main idea. Understanding Bodybuilding Nutrition and Training is a follow up to Aceto's Championship Bodybuilding. It contains, in a unique question and answer format, the answers to the most difficult to coprehend and often conflicting informatio on training, building mass, muscle recruitment, rep speed and nutrition. Here's what the author has to say regarding its format, "We learn and understand by asking questions. From the pre schooler to the University Scholar, the fundamental way to obtain new information and knowledge is by asking. I arranged this book in a simple 'Q and A' format to make it easy for the reader to get exact answers to questions regarding losing fat, holding muscle while dieting and building mass." The book also contais a dictionary of common bodybuildig terms, defining everything from lipolysis, to carbo loading to sarcomere- for the information buffs. more

Amateur Night
Of course no one in their right mind would expect literary quality or "fine writing" in a book of this kind. Still, there's no excuse for the amateurish, just barely literate nature of the presentation here: little evident familiarity with basic grammar and spelling rules (obviously nobody...

A complete waste of time
This "book" is a series of bland questions compled with hyperbolic answers. The author is incapable of suing the english language, and appears incapable of undertakking research. Far from being scientific in approach, often there will either be a bald contention (I do this so it must be right)...

Not sure this is a good buy
The last pages are a waste (glossary, about 100 pages), but the rest of it is in a question answer format that at times seem to contradict themselves. I think he should stick with nutrition he seems to know that, and leave the bodybuilding questions to people who know what they are talking...

Not Bad
Chris Aceto is obviously a smart guy. It shows in his writing. You'll never find a bodybuilding book that is "art", but as a reference source this book is pretty good. I do have a few "cons" about this book, though: It's somewhat abivalent about the steroid issue. Some of the information in this...

A Different View of How to Lift
This book is not a long one, but the first 80 plus pages are not nutritional advice, and the final pages (past 100) are definitions of terms used in bodybuilding. The approximately 20 pages in between are the ones with nutritional information. If you want a book focused on bodybuilding...

Words of Wisdom
Understanding BB Nutr and Training is a fantastic book. As far as credibility goes, I attended Chris and Laura's camp a few years ago and found their working knowledge of bodybuilding- both training and nutrition- far ahead of the pack, better than the "science" at the time (ie, people were...
