Enjoyable read!
I did not think this book would be as interesting as it was. Not only did it give a new perspective on how to read the Bible, but makes reading more enjoyable. It describes how to get the most out of the reading, with understanding of the times and circumstances that the bodies of work were...

Immensely Helpful
This book was immensely helpful. Even growing up in an evangelical church, reading scripture was never covered at more than a very elementary level. Why this book is not particularly advanced, it is much more broad and deep than most of what I had previously encountered on my walk. The most...

I had wanted to write a longer review but was pleasantly surprised at the number of detailed and accurate reviews already contributed here. So, in short I would say this is a great book that exactly befits the title. It rescues one from the endemic of biblical illiteracy due not so much to not...

Can't rate--never received
I'm with A. Johnson. I ordered this book as a Christmas present and never received it. I sent at least 3 emails (if not more) complaining and received absolutely no help. I've heard good things about this book--wish I knew for myself. The one and only time I've had trouble with Amazon ordering. I...

Regarding Kindle Version
This is one of my favorite books so naturally I wanted to have the updated version on my Kindle. To my surprise, after downloading the Kindle version, I realized it was the 2nd edition, even though the 3rd edition has been out for quite some time.I guess I should have looked closer, but I would...

How to Read the Bible for all it's Worth
Doesn't shed light on any of the bible's true worth. Confusing and contradictory. Author, evidently, hasn't gotten a revelation of God's true Word. Hope that that revelation will come.
