The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists
"This is one hugely entertaining book. I loved every page. And I will never let Neil Strauss within fifty feet of my wife." --A. J. Jacobs, Esquire Hidden somewhere, in nearly every major city in the world, is an underground seduction lair. And in these lairs, men trade the most devastatingly effective techniques ever invented to charm women. This is not fiction. These men really exist. They live together in houses known as Projects. And Neil Strauss, the bestselling author, spent two years living among them, using the pseudonym Style to protect his real-life identity. The result is one of the most explosive, witty, and controversial books of the year--guaranteed to change the lives of men and transform the way women understand the opposite sex forever. On his journey from AFC (average frustrated chump) to PUA (pick-up artist) to PUG (pick-up guru), Strauss not only shares scores of original seduction techniques but also has memorable encounters with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Fleiss, and Courtney Love. And then things really start to get strange ? and passions lead to betrayals lead to violence. The Game is the story of one man?s transformation from frog to prince to prisoner in the most unforgettable book of the year.

intriguing read couldnt put it down
I read this book in two days. It keeps you wanting more and you dont want to put it down. The storyline is at first very interesting like an underdog story but then you find out how "the game" is ruining his life. In the end he realizes this end "the game" for himself as he finds a serious...

good info for divorced guys
Got divorced about a year ago. Shortly afterward, a friend suggested this book. The best thing I took away from this book is that how you're living now doesn't have to be how you will live forever. You can make changes. This book is a good "mentor" to men who are looking to meet more women and...

a good intro to the seduction lifestyle
A friend of mine has this book and loaned it to me. Interesting story about what can happen when you really work on yourself. Like self-development with a seduction slant. If you enjoy self-development materials, you will enjoy this. If you enjoy books on sex and seduction, you will enjoy this....

When human psychology meets picking up women
I was in awe after reading this book. Although I would certainly say that I am well read in body language assessment and other components of applied psychology, it is amazing to see the extent to which Strauss recounts pickup artists establishing field tested methodologies for picking up women....

Great book - much like "21"
I liken this book to "21", it's a great story for the average guy going for a whirlwind adventure, living a life most everyone else just dreams about. Lot's of fun to read - it had me laughing out loud many times!

Great Story, kind of Epic
This is one of the best stories I've ever read, and it's all true. You'll have a hard time putting it down. I think Neil was much too hard on the all the men in this book (except Tom Cruise), while complementing virtually all the women. Many of the pua's and wanna-be pua's may be incomplete in...

Don't be a player, just play the game
In his acknowledgments for this book, Neil Strauss thanks his agent, who hopes that the author will one day write something "high-brow." But while The Game might not be an exemplar of the non-fiction novel on the level of Tom Wolfe, Hunter S. Thompson, or Truman Capote, it's not exactly tabloid...

Funny but True
Completely reflective of any successful pickup attempt ever made. Takes freak incidents chalked up to a player's luck and makes it an artform with sequenced rules to playing the game. Still not peacocking, but I understand.

Great, but I expected more step-by-step guide
The book is great, excellent introduction to the PUA world... but note that this is not a step-by-step guide, it contains the basics of the Mystery Method and other techniques, but you have to isolate it from the story itself (the book is about all the process that this guy, Style, had to make to...

Great Story - But Not For Learning the PUA Skills
Not sure what else I can say that hasn't already been said. But its a great story that was very inspirational to me. I learned some things new things, but was mostly entertained about how a guy who had a high profile still wasn't successful with women until he came to Hollywood and met Mystery....
