Tubbs Glacier Girl's (2008/2009) Snowshoes

The Glacier Series from Tubbs gives young adventurers a chance to enjoy the growing sport of snowshoeing. With many of the features found throughout Tubbs adult snowshoe models, the compact design of the Tubbs Glacier Girl's snowshoes make them ideal for preteen and early teen-aged girls (80-150 lbs.). The Tubbs QuickDraw Binding couldn't be any simpler to use, allowing quick-and-easy exit and entry. This adjustable design fits boot sizes from youth 1 and up. The rotating flexibility of the toe cord allows boots to pivot independently of the frame of the Glacier Girl's snowshoes, maximizing the penetration of the crampon in the snow base. The rotation also enables the tail to drop away from the binding during hiking, effectively shedding snow, reducing resistance and minimizing the fatigue associated with carrying the unnecessary weight of clinging snow. The tapered frame of each Glacier Girl's snowshoe is constructed of sturdy 6000 series aluminum. The tapered tail and technical rise of the nose of the frame enhance balance and provide excellent flotation, further ensuring a natural stride. Durable, lightweight decking material provides dependable flotation and holds up extremely well under the rigors of winter adventure (NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8"of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.). Glacier Girl's snowshoes are outfitted with an aluminum recreational crampon in the toe and a stainless steel crampon in the heel, providing constant, dependable traction whether young snowshoe enthusiasts are moving in an uphill, downhill or side hill direction.
