MSR Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes are built for varied terrains and sustained climbs. The revolutionary Total Traction Frame lends structure and provides a perimeter of 360 degree traction. Designed specifically for women, Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes offer unsurpassed traction. On steep terrain, MSR's Televator heel lifters can be flipped up to support the heels of the Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes, making climbing easier and reducing calf fatigue. This feature makes the Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes ideal for steep climbs. Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes are extremely lightweight, allowing you to walk more easily and naturally than you would in most traditional snowshoes. The frame is constructed from one vertical blade of aerospace-quality aluminum supported by two cross members of high-strength steel. The urethane decking is fastened at 18 attachment points for an extra measure of durability, even in the unlikely event of a tear-out. The bindings of the Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes utilize a step-on molded urethane design with three speed-hook buckles that open to securely fit a variety of boots. Lightning Ascent Women's snowshoes are available in two sizes. The general load range of both Lightning Ascent Women's-22 and Lightning Ascent Women's-25 snowshoes is 150-225 lbs. (includes body weight, clothing and pack weight). However, flotation requirements vary dramatically with snow conditions. See the information below for more specific load recommendations from MSR: On firm snow and established trails, Lightning Ascent Women's-22 snowshoes are suitable for 90-225+ pounds and Lightning Ascent Women's-25 snowshoes are suitable for 125-225+ pounds. On soft snow up to 30 inches deep, Lightning Ascent Women's-22 snowshoes are suitable for 90-125+ pounds, and Lightning Ascent Women's-25 snowshoes are suitable for 125-225+ pounds. On soft snow deeper than 30 inches, Lightning Ascent Women's-25 snowshoes are suitable for 90-225 pounds. Lightning Ascent Women's-22 snowshoes are not recommended for snow this soft and deep.
