At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Superb scanner
I purchased the Epson Perfection V750-M Pro scanner to replace an old (and failing) product from another maker. In short, the name says it all: Perfection! It handles negatives and slides better than my dedicated film scanner at resolutions up to...

Sharp images intuitive to use.
Quick setup, intuitive controls and function. Sharp images (extremely clear and sharp dust specks) correctable using the enclosed software. Contrast and brightness needs correction by editing. So far like it very much.

Great scanner, but not without flaws
Folks buy this scanner mostly for scanning transparencies, and expect "drum scan" performance levels from it. It simply does not deliver anything anywhere close to drum scan. That said, for large format film, this is the cheapest acceptable option...

Epson V750-M is nice, but 4800 dpi is marketing hype
In October 2007 my lab bought an Epson V750-M scanner. This is my second experience with it, having had a previous lab buy one in May 2006, soon after its introduction. The SilverFast software is ok, but I usually use Hamrick's VueScan Pro ($90,...

Doesn't have holder for 110 film
I should have read the item description a little closer, but I assumed that for $750 it would include mounts for a lot of older film formats that were popular in the '70s and '80s such as 110 film. I have a box of old photo's & negatives that I...

Great scanner
I have tons of antique photos and the tintypes are so small but when enlarged they turn out so very crisp. I think the best part of this scanner is the ability to do wet scans with negatives and wow it takes out all the scratches and when you hav

When I finally get it working, it will probably be wonderful -- BUT!
I'm sure this is a wonderful product. HOWEVER there are NO instructions for adjusting the height of the film holders. "Adjusters" are supplied, but not even described. There is not even a suggestion on what size or type Mylar cover is required...

Disappointing
Another oversold product from Epson. Actual resolution is closer to 1200 dpi. Skip this and buy a real film scanner if quality matters at all to you.

Nice scans and features
This product has completely met my expectations so far. (I have not yet attempted any wet mounting, however.) I also considered the Epson V700 flatbed scanner, but in retrospect, I am glad that I got this model largely because of the excellent...
