Dimelo Con Salsa

This compilation/sampler from the Southern California label Dimelo Records includes eleven tracks from the label's tropical music catalogue of artists and concept bands. The disc introduces the new sounds of the Los Angeles-based bands Los Dueños del Son (son montuno outfit), Pura Sepa (Puerto Rican salsa), ALC (A Lo Cubano), and Kuero (interpreters of the new urban Latin sound of callesón). Completing the mix is the label's veteran ensemble Orquesta Tabaco y Ron showcasing three of their new scores: La Reina (a tribute to the Queen of Salsa music, Celia Cruz), Con Tabaco y Ron (the band's theme song), and Happy Birthday Tropical (a medley of Cumpleaños Feliz and Las Mañanitas). Favorite tracks include Los Dueños del Son's Salsa De La Ma' Buena, Orquesta Tabaco y Ron's La Reina featuring Martín Padilla on vocals, the track Puerto Rico by the group Pura Sepa, Vivo En El Monte by Kuero (featuring Carlos Parra on vocals), and ALC's No Te Metas Conmigo, featuring George Balmaseda on vocals.  more
