Qualifications:

Product Manager - Smarter.com

MeziMedia is a profitable internet company with websites in 10 countries and offices in Monrovia, California Shanghai, China and Tokyo, Japan. We are growing rapidly and are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to take product ownership of current and future MeziMedia products. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this person will be a member of the team responsible for the development and day-to-day operation of multiple products at MeziMedia. This position will be required to workwith the Business, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Marketing teams to create new products and manage and implement the release of new features.


Role & Responsibility:

• Lead the product definition stages, including the creation of business and functional specs.
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Design to drive all stages of the product development process.
• Identify and analyze new opportunities to improve and enhance web sites in the MeziMedia portfolio.
• Work with multiple cross-functional teams to prioritize projects.
• Be the product evangelist within the organization to champion product evolution and development.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years relevant experience, at least 2+ years in the internet industry.
• Understanding web technology such as HTML, DHTML, XML, javascript and AJAX formats (no coding required).
• Passion for creating world-class products that reach a wide consumer audience.
• Extreme attention to detail a must.
• Ability to motivate and influence team members.
• High analytical skills coupled with creativity to resolve complex problems with simple solutions.
• Strong product/project management skills. Proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion within realistic deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop a must.
• 4-6 international trips per year will be required.

We are growing rapidly and are looking for for enthusiastic, professional,goal-oriented, outbound sales executives to build advertiser relationships for our Smarter.com (www.smarter.com) comparison shopping engine. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an important initiative in the online comparison shopping space, and to see theimpact of your work.

The Sales Executive position will be directly responsible for acquiring advertisers across categories like: Computers, Electronics, Flowers, Books, Music, Video, Apparel, Home& Garden and more to come. This individual will be a salesperson with outstanding communication skills and a willingness to learn.

This is not an educational sale. Our target advertisers already advertise in multiple comparison shopping engines like Shopping.com, BizRate or Pricegrabber. We are simply offering another opportunity to purchase qualified traffic to their storefronts. This is a great opportunity fora Sales Executive to make good commission very quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire new advertisers for Smarter.com through to online signup and datafeed submittal. Method of acquisition will primarily be outbound phone and e-mail contact, but will also include light travel and trade show selling opportunities.
• Transfer relationships to Account Managers to manage opening of advertiser account, technical implementation, reporting and billing,and customer service.
• Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, effectively represent company to advertisers, understand competitive landscape for internet advertising and comparison shopping. Achieve minimum monthly performance quota.
• Develop, with the Account Executive team, ongoing improvements to the process of prospecting, qualifying, and closing key accounts.
• Understand the merchant landscape for whatever category you are selling into. Know who the key players are, key developments in their sector, and how to hone your pitch specifically to that industry.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• No formal sales experience required, we will train.
• Cold calling experience a plus.
• Superior phone skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Experience managing a large client base a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a sales team.
• Familiarity and understanding of the Internet.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
