Works well with Dell Inspiron 600m

My previous review on this product was a 1-star -- thinking it was DoA or incompatible with Dell. It turns out it was a connection problem -- the pins were a little too tight, and if I push all the way in, it connects and works like a charm! Windows XP detects it and installs the driver...

Works on our ACER, vista

this works well with our Acer, Windows Vista. IT comes with software, but you should have your own camcorder software for optimal results. We are using this to transfer video from our miniDV recorder and then editing the footage to put clips on YouTube. Works great for us! Great price too...

Not compatible apparently...

I have a Dell Precision M65 Notebook and this card simply isn't compatible. On other sites I have now found out that this product has had problems with other Dell models. If you are a Dell user, might want to think about a different card.

Doesn't cooperate fully w/Vista

Despite the "Windows Vista" compatibility logos on the Startech website & other reviews here, this card would not install properly on my Fujitsu laptop running Vista Business. Oddly, I could still plug in and read/write to my external HDD, but other functionality was busted & it kept trying to...

Works great

I needed to add some firewire ports to my laptop in order to connect my new digital video camera (Canon HV20). This card worked great. Just plug and play. It does not work with my laptop

This item does not work with my Lenovo thinkpad T60P laptop running window XP professional. Window XP hung when pugging the card. Amazon has good return service to take back this item.
