Armed Madhouse: From Baghdad to New Orleans--Sordid Secrets and Strange Tales of a White House Gone Wild
In his most provocative and caustically funny book yet, Greg Palast, author of the national bestseller The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, once again gives us the straight scoop on the stories that Big Media won?t report. Digging up reams of documents marked "secret" and "confidential," Palast provides the latest lowdown on Bush?s secret plans to seize Iraq?s oil, the fix planned for the 2008 election, who drowned New Orleans, and the horror and the humor of the War on Terror. With diligent detective work, moral outrage, and a keen sense of the absurd, Palast takes on the "armed and dangerous clowns that rule us" as only he can. more

behind the bull
If you don't already know some of this stuff, prepare yourself to be disillusioned. We live in a wonderful country, and we are not in charge. This book names those who are in charge and how they do what they do. It exposes graft, greed, corporate manipulation, and more that will make you mad, I...

Excellent research & funny writing about the 2004 US election
Greg Palast is a great reporter. He's thorough, gives superb references and is a funny writer. Some of the things he exposes here are just jaw-dropping examples of voter fraud. This is an excellent book that pulls you in, and strongly recommended for anyone interested in the nature of democracy...

Good book--Questionable sources
This book is another great read by Greg Palast. I love his dedication to uncovering the corruption in the government. Although this book can be a bit one sided (not Michael Moore one sided though) and have some very questionable sources (the document just fell out the sky and someone in my...

Hits on point for which the real arguments are commonly diverted from
To me, the two most important points of the book had little to do with the U.S. election. The first relates to Iraqi oil. The few remaining Bush apologists simplify the concept of "war for oil" to mean that if Americans aren't looting the oil and coming home with a barrel under each arm then the...

Good reporting - but too heavy on the spin
It's unfortunate that more books on this topic are not written and/or widely read. Palast does a good job of trying to keep this issue in the mainstream. Unfortunately, I think he cheapens the effort by writing in a style that is overly sarcastic and glib. The whole book comes across as a left...

The Madness of King George W. Bush
Greg Palast is an investigative journalist with a penchant for hard- hitting, yet humorous and highly readable commentary on the political happenings of our time. In "Armed Madhouse", Palast presents one of his best efforts yet at exposing the dishonesty and motivations of the Bush administration...

He belongs in a madhouse alright.
I will admit it and I will be flamed by the extremist in the comment sections, I could not finish this book, heck I couldn't even finish most chapters - it's that bad.Let me explain I am a ex-member of the Democrat Party, but NOT a republican. I am a JFK democrat at heart with no party to turn...

introduction to politics
This book has been an eye opener to me! So much information! And obviously all of it well researched and documented. I never knew so much goes on behind the scenes of American elections that cannot stand the light of day. If I would live in the US I certainly would want to vote and be passionate...

Armed Madhouse
Palast is great. Too bad one of our mass media doesn't hire him as an investigative reporter, but the corporate determiners of what the public can be permitted won't allow it. At least Great Britain gets his reporting as it happens while we must await his books. This book is on the mark and an...

Elvis is still alive as is Jim Morrision
I was handed this book by a friend who shares different political views than myself and told... "you will be amazed by this book".I was amazed for sure, but not for the reasons he thought. What amazes me is how human intelligence does not keep pace with our technological advances.Having had the...
