Keeps you guessing.
I guess I have to give this one 4 stars, I really can't see any reason not too. Did it blow me away, no. Did it keep me wanting to read more, were the characters great, was the ending worth reading the book...definitely! I want to read more of the Stone B. novels, but now want to start with...

Better but not his Best
The MarginI've read several of Woods's novels, I like mysteries, but for some reason--not entirely clear to me--his are beginning to sound unrealistic. I know, I know it's fiction. The story goes like this. Thad Thames, a rich man, meets Liz Harding at a party and is quite taken by her. Problem is...

Too Many Ex-Loves.
Stuart Woods serves up so many "ex-dishes" for Stone Barrington to handle it is difficult to remember "who was who" or why they were important. Somehow, the story, which has a good premise gets lost in all of the previous encounters and Stone becomes a celluloid copy of his former self without...

Cold Paradise review
Typically enjoyable Stone Barrington saga that draws you in immediately with just the right amount of action and love interest to make you forget whatever irritating problems you may have in your own life - great escapism. I've never read a Stone Barrington book I didn't enjoy.

Enjoyable listen!
I enjoy Stuart Wood's Stone Barrington novels and this was another fun ride. I have to wonder about the on again/off again relationship with Arrington Calder, but then Stone seems to be hung up on that wacko woman. Of course he's such a whore, he'll sleep with anyone and he's even slept with a...

got me hooked quickly
what can I say about Woods that I haven't already said? Once again he builds on what happened before, takes it further and makes it better...this book would be great on its own, but you really have to read the Barrington series in order to to get the full effect of each entry in the series...I...

Awesome
Stuart Woods always keeps you guessing and Stone Barrington is always an interesting person, who always finds himself in trouble in work and in love.

Saw it coming . . . but that's OK
I'd like to hang around with Stone Barrington for a couple of weeks, buy $150 dollar shirts for my friends, $50 dollar socks when I need the right shade, know what kind of an engine goes in a Bentley, and get $25,000 dollar watches from ex-lovers as a thank you. And the women. As Dino would say,...

A fun read, but not the best Barrington novel
After having read Wood's latest Stone Barrington novel, "Dirty Work" (and loving it) I wanted to go back and read the earlier novels in the series, which brought me to "Cold Paradise". It's a very fast-paced story, and definitely keeps you entertained for all of its 300+ pages. Here are some...
