Terrible HD TV, DO NOT PURCHASE!
I've had this television for 2 years now at can't stand it. I don't know what the other reviewers are on but the colors are terrible, especially blacks! All blacks look faded and grayish when they should be pitch black. This is an issue in both stand

I purchased a plasma 2 years ago and the plasma popped it is a manufacturer malfunction, I called customer service and supervisor John #27270 explained to me that there company no matter what does not cover anything on there products over 365 days 52

Stop! Don't Buy Toshiba TV!!!! Don't! Don't! Don't
Pros: Good Picture while it lasts. Cons: Worst Customer Value ever!!!!! Toshiba 50HP66 Plasma TV failed suddenly and for no good reason after two years of use. Five of seven circuit boards failed completely. Repair shop estimate comes in at $1500

Great bang for the buck
I've had my 50HP66 for 5 months now and have not had any problems at all. The HD picture quality is outstanding and and even the regular channels had a good picture. It was easy to set up and the remote is also easy to use. No complaints here

Nice TV but regret not going LCD
I bought 2 tv's. A 37 lcd (Emerson) AND This Toshiba 50 plamsa for about 2x the cost ($899 vs $1799). They are both 720p and I have to say, I just think the LCD is sharper. I have a high def box hooked up to both. I like My Toshiba but if had to do it all over again I would go 180p 40inch LCD....
