Physics For Dummies (For Dummies (Math & Science))
Does just thinking about the laws of motion make your head spin? Does studying electricity short your circuits? Do the complexities of thermodynamics cool your enthusiasm? Thanks to this book, you don?t have to be Einstein to understand physics. As you read about Newton?s Laws, Kepler?s Laws, Hooke?s Law, Ohm?s Law, and others, you?ll appreciate the For Dummies law: The easier we make it, the faster people understand it and the more they enjoy it! Whether you?re taking a class, helping kids with homework, or trying to find out how the world works, this book helps you understand basic physics. It covers: Steven Holzner, Ph.D. earned his B.S. at MIT and his Ph.D. at Cornell, where he taught Physics 101 and 102 for over 10 years. He livens things up with cool physics facts, real-world examples, and simple experiments that will heighten your enthusiasm for physics and science. The book ends with some out-of-this world physics that will set your mind in motion: May the Force be with you!

Great for first time physics students
I am in college, studying drafting and design theories. Part of the curriculum is a two hundred level physics class. I was so lost the first few days of class and was struggling to maintain a B average. I ordered this book and recieved it a few days later. It explained the concepts of most of my...

Disappointed...
I bought this book for physics w/o calculus and used it maybe once or twice. It is good if you don't understand the concepts but terrible for helping you work out the problems. I don't know about anyone else but at my school, problem solving was all we were graded on. In the end I don't think...

it is an easy read and fun
This is a totally diferent approach from the tranditional text book. It does give a better idea of physics world but not as indepth. If you just want to read for fun it is a much faster and fun and easier read.

Thank God
I took physics for the first time last semester and had an aweful textbook. This book really helped me. It doesn't get fancy with deriving equations and junk like that. The best thing about this book is that is is CLEAR and TO THE POINT.

Another great title from the "Dummies!"
Has been the only help for my daughter in physics class. She'd be lost without it.

Not for dummies
This book isn't really for people who aren't familiar with physics, it's a reference for people who've already learned physics to brush up on thing that might have slipped their minds. It's both comical and insulting in how it asserts that you should now understand some long equation after...
