I don't think it's working- if it is, it stinks!

We just got it, and right out of the box, it's not working too well. It seems like it's struggling to find 'corns to grind- like it's skipping. Then a few very coarse grinds will come out... I'm tempted to return it, but I'm thinking I need to play with it more- though there's a lot of parts...
