The above reviewer is correct that Cook's Illustrated has updated its recommendation of this pan. But, the actual review is in the 'Equipment Corner' section of the July/August 2005 issue NOT the November/December issue.

It's a roasting pan, not a skillet!!

Forget the negative reviews! This pan does a fantastic job of roasting. I will be doing a 7 lb. Choice Beef Rib-eye roast for Christmas dinner in it. It deglazes just like any other good SS pan. It is a tad heavy though, so don't expect an aluminum feel to it. Cleanup is just like any other SS...
