The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth
The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth reawakens a surprising ancient view of the Eucharist, as the harbinger of the supernatural drama described by the New Testament book of Revelation. Catholic theologian Scott Hahn thinks that many worshippers receive the sacrament of communion without ever considering its links to the end of the world, the Apocalypse, and the Second Coming. Hahn wants to change our minds; he wants us to know that "The Mass--and I mean every single Mass--is heaven on earth." Literally. So, Hahn declares, "Now heaven has been unveiled for us with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ ... Jesus Christ Himself says to you: 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me' (Rv. 3:20)." Hahn's enthusiasm, as evident even from these short quotes, is considerable--and infectious. Furthermore, he delivers his arguments with great levity (demonstrated in chapter titles such as "Oath Meal"), which makes The Lamb's Supper quite a tasty read. --Michael Joseph Gross more

An OUTSTANDING book. Turned my Roman Catholic faith COMPLETELY Around!
I always thought church at time was basically meaningless. However, I just got done reading the parts in this book PROVING that the Mass IS Heaven on Earth, and I have to say I have NEVER been excited to be a Catholic as I am now. I truely recommend Catholics of ALL rites to read this book. The...

Silly, but some interesting stuff
This book would probably be 100% better if it was 50% smaller. There's a lot of build-up, but when you get to the main chapter, that's supposed to reveal how the Mass is spelled out in the Book of Revelation, what greets you is a simple table of elements in the Mass and where they might be found...

An Invitation to a Feast
NOW it all makes sense! After reading THE LAMB'S SUPPER, I'll never look at Mass the same--nor should I. Scott Hahn ties the Book of Revelation, the liturgy, and the Communion of Saints together in one beautifully written work. Even after attending mass at least weekly for 58 years, I've never...

Sometimes, it takes "new eyes" to look at something.
As is usual with Scott Hahn, we "cradle Catholics" benefit from his "new eyes" when taking a closeer look at who we are as Catholics and why we do what we have been doing for, well, 2,000 years. This book was very enjoyable. It made many things "click" and I recommend it to any Catholic looking...

Finally, the Liturgy Understood
I had an immediate paradigm-shift when I read about the relationship between Revelation and the celebration of the Liturgy - The incense, the garbs, the altar, and more importantly the words we sometimes echo without feeling or thinking of the real meaning of it all... "Holy, Holy, Holy,", and...

More Hahn Humbug: The Reader is Sacrificed
I'm surprised at how well received this man's opines are within the Catholic community; perhaps this is due to Hahn's remarkable capacity to pull biblical passages out of his hat with startling acuity. As increasing numbers of Catholics turn to reading the texts outside the Mass and Lectionary,...

Identified with Hahn
Even fallen away Catholics (like me) will benefit from this book. I can identify with Hahn's experience of realizing for the first time that what he was entering in to (the Mass) was infact the unfolding of time and space - of heaven and earth. The Book of Revelation now makes more sense to me.

You need to read it
For cradle Catholics, it is the perfect book; for protestants who think Catholicism is wrong, it is the perfect book; for folks who want to understand the Catholic Mass, it is the perfect book.

Breaking Open the Riches of the Mass
In this book Scott Hahn takes the Mass and draws out the parallels in the book of Revelation. He explores how parts of the Mass draw from and perfect Jewish tradition, and to my pleasure he makes abundant references to early Christian writers. His basic purpose is to show the depth and majesty of...
