The murder of Wall Street Journal writer Daniel Pearl in 2002 by Jihadi extremists shocked the world. In 2004, David Heath received a call from Pearl's father, who had heard one of Heath's pieces and wanted to commission a piece in Daniel's honor. Elegy for Daniel Pearl for violin and piano was then used by Muslim filmmaker Ahmed Jamal as the theme music to his moving and powerful documentary tribute, The Journalist and The Jihadi. The film was shown on HBO and CNN in 2006, and was recently nominated for two Emmy Awards. more
