Baryshnikov version is much better

Wonderful Production!
This is a wonderful version of the Nutcracker. It is especially helpful to those new to ballet because there is a narrator who explains the story. The dancing and costumes are beautiful! I would recommend this DVD to anyone who loves the ballet.

Best production of The Nutcracker

A common man's point of view.
With over 60 reviews I doubt if this one is needed. It's too bad that some of the truely great ballets, like "Giselle" get so few reviews. This is a well done ballet with some very good dancing even from the children. Macaulay Caulkin sometimes turns me off with that smirk of his, however....

Very Entertaining!
My daughter and I have watched all the Nutcracker Ballets on TV/DVD. This one is our favorite. It's beautiful and so well done. The costumes weren't so over-the-top like other Nutcracker ballets. Children and adults can enjoy this one from beginning to end.

Wonderful version for children
I selected this version because of what others said about the use of children in the cast and I was not disappointed. I was very pleased with how natural they were (except for Culkin). My three-year-old grand-niece was enthralled from start to finish.
