Great Production and Event
One thing I like about this dvd release is that they have all the replays and most interviews after the fights. That's one thing missing from almost every UFC event DVD but they have it here! Now onto the event, it was a decent show. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the show does feature lots...

HEAVY hitters
I love it when the title lives up to it's name. Here are the bouts:NICK DIAZ VS. KOJI OISHI-I rememebr seeing this on Ultimate Knockouts. Koji is not a bad fightert at all and has made major improvements but can somebody tell me what the hell he was doing out there?PAUL BUENTELLO VS. KEVIN...

Wrong Main Event Featured
UFC 53 - Heavy Hitters featured two (or 1 ?) title matches along with interesting match-ups to round out the card. The night was kicked off with a fight featuring young, but experienced Cesar Gracie fighter Nick Diaz. Diaz had already 4 fights under his belt with only one loss against the...

Not the best, but better than I thought it would be.
There are some lame fights on this card without a doubt, but there are also some really good fights as well. Rich Franklin vs. Evan Tanner is an amazing fight to see and is actually worth the price of the disc. Good stuff... you should buy it!

absolutely horrible.
Just terrible and not worth the money. The fights are horrible and the fighters have very little skill. Puchase PRIDE instead where the best fighters in the WORLD come to fight.

an absolute joke of an event
UFC 53 is a joke of an event, especially the main event. The heavyweight division in the UFC is complete drab and this prematurely ending main event is no exception. You can tell that all these guys have very little skill compared to the guys in Pride and sometimes are akin to fat barroom...

A Very Dull and Uninteresting Event
Ultimate Fighting Championship is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts (MMA) organization, currently recognized as the major MMA promotion in North America.UFC 53 - Heavy Hitters is very drab and uninteresting Mixed Martial Arts event. The card is chock full of of B-level fighters who do not deserve...

Some Good Fights
Some really good fights at this event, it's like a continuation of UFC 52 which was also a very good event. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu phenom Nick Diaz shows off his well rounded skills by duking it out with Koji Oishi, with an ending similar to his previous stand-up battle with Robbie Lawler at UFC...

Franklin wins the championship
This was a very good UFC event. We got to see the pay-per-view debut of Ultimate Fighter winner Forrest Griffin vs. Bill Mahood. Arlovski takes an unnecessary fight with Juston Eilers while he awaits the return of Frank Mir for the championship unification bout. These fights are both somewhat...

UFC 53: Heavy Hitters
Koji Oishi vs. Nick Diaz - Oishi has one of the worst stand-up stances I've ever seen and Diaz makes him pay for it. Quick, so-so opener, wish it would have been more of a contest 5/10David Loiseau vs. Charles McCarthy - SLOW first round, not helped by McCarthy's youth and not knowing what to do...
