Those Who Tell The Truth Will Tell You To Buy This
Explosions in The Sky (EiTs), are a U.S. Post-Rock outfit. "Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever" and "The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place" are cited as the bands two more favorable albums. While the two aren't sonically different, opinions widely...

I really wanted to like it
I read a review in the Riverfront Times, St. Louis. I had high hopes. Sorry, couldn't get through the disc: too boring. The first track sounded a bit like "Failure." Overall sounded like a band of 13 year-olds discovering how to make noise.

Underwhelming Post Rock
After reading all of the reviews that praised this album as being an amazing, must-have, definitive post-rock album, I decided to take a chance. It is actually very predictable and straightforward. The drumming is static (always the march-time beat!), the slow sections are played without...

God be with us
'Explosions'' best album. A tale of morality, brought out by the theme of death (as is evident from the album's title), resulting in an absolutely pristine, contemplative, dichotomous masterpiece of emotion. The band's philosophy is in full force here -- before, nor after, have they got their...

Eh? I Feel I'm Missing Something...
I really don't understand the massive acclaim this album receives. I would go as far to say it's...boring!!!GAH strike me down, (and I'm sure this little review will be...) but I find this album way too monotonous to be interesting. This review may come across as scathing, but don't get me wrong,...

A cure for "Modern Rock"
I had a good feeling about this disc after hearing a few previews here at amazon. I wasn't disappointed. The songs are dynamic, emotional, well arranged, well mixed, and to put it simply, awesome. One of the best discs I've listened to this year.

to this cd i give my undisputed respect
I have been into explosions in the sky for a few years now and they are highly influential towards me and my fellow band members writing. This album I find as being their most experimental (apart from "the rescue" which isn't a million miles off impossible to get your hands on an actual copy of,...

Perfect
I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this album. Granted EitS is my favorite band, and I'm biased, but this is truly awe-inspiring music. Yes, its repetitive, but therein lies its appeal. The soul of the music lies in the margins, between the notes, and in the small variations. If you...

Post-Modern Instrumental Musical Coup..
Bought the album this pm and have already listened to it a number of times. I was drawn to Explosions in the Sky's music the other day after seeing "Friday Night Lights" (great movie, too, btw)...The band's sound is a post-modern instrumental attack of rhythmic, almost math rock-like music that...

One of the most aggressively gorgeous albums ever made
4 1/2 starsIf this was classified as your typical punk rock band setup, then we would be living 5 trillion light years away as an alien race while we meditated collectively..How did four young guys from Austin, Texas bring down the Heavens so purely and direct, in an almost selfless fashion of...
