Deadwing

Porcupine Tree defies categorization. This unique London-based quartet make unconventional, uncompromising music that qualifies them as Europe's premiere art-rock cult band. Porcupine Tree's cogent musical personality is a force to be reckoned with. Porcupine Tree's intelligent and accessible sound will appeal not only to metal enthusiasts and twenty-something dark wave fans, but will also fit in with today's more adventurous alternative station playlists.  more

Great Album

Great, new, creative, rocky, spacy, complicated and Fun. Really good album. With roots that lie in Pink Floyd, Yes, Rush and Moody Blues they take the old flavors and make it all new and exciting. Highly recommended. But I bought the DVD audio version and my only complaint is i need to turn on my...

Complete modern prog album

My discovery of Porcupine Tree just a little over a year ago was a musical revelation of sorts. Porcupine Tree has really inspired me, more than any modern band, with the way they can synthesize a wide array of influences into a completely unique and well-crafted album. Steven Wilson certainly is...

Awesome CD !! My new favorite band.

I discovered PT through a friend about 2 years ago. Since then, I have bought everything they have done since the "Lightbulb Sun" LP. I have also seen then perform live. BUY THIS CD !! Excellent song writing, and one of the world's greatest drummers, Gavin Harrison. If you like this one,...

Quite possible, a perfect album

There are others here who can give (and have given) much better reviews for this album. So I don't know how helpful this will be to anyone who's contemplating buying it. I'm only going to give my gut, emotional reaction to it, as opposed to a logical analysis of why each song is so spectacular....

The Greatest Band You've Never Heard Of

This album is a masterpiece. It's really rare to find a band like this in this day & age. There is so much crap out there now. A band that makes it on talent alone. No MTV no radio play. It's like it used to be. Word of mouth and live shows. Check out all of their work, you won't be dissapointed....

Best new music in 30 years

This is some of the most satisfying music this old rocker has heard in 30 years. PT stands out from all the mediocre grunge rock and rap of the last couple decades. They're innovative, technically excellent, melodic, unique, and they're balanced with youthful driving energy and the intelligence...

PT Keeps it fresh

This Disc is just amazing. I love it. An incredible musical journey full of textures and excellent harmonizing. Tracks like the 'Deadwing' and 'Mellotron Scratch', with its Pink Floyd-ish melody lines, just get under your skin and don't relent. Beautiful. The bonus track 'Shes Moved On' is a song...

Porcupine Tree - Follow Me Down To The Valley Below......

Porcupine Tree continue their reign as one of the most popular progressive rock bands in the business by releasing another solid album "Deadwing" in 2005. Comparison to their previous disc "In Absentia" abounds here, as "Deadwing" could easily be "In Abesentia" part II in many ways. The band...
