Come a Little Bit Closer: The Best of Jay and the Americans

This is a early studio recording with side comments and some distractions. I was a little bit disappointed.The songs are great but they are not the clean cuts to which we have become accustomed.

Okay maybe I was a little harsh

Originally I gave this one star, but I think two is more reasonable as there are some decent moments on here. Still, I got this cd because I loved their version of "This Magic Moment" so I was very disappointed that nothing else on here grabbed nearly as much. At one point in the liner notes...

Good, but too much filler

As a casual fan of this group, one who never bought their records but liked to hear them on radio during their hit years, only about half of the songs on this album are what I bought it for. But the price is right and I can program my changer to play only the biggest hits. Good quality transfers...

All the songs that made Jay and The Americans so GREAT!

Come a little bit closer

Very good to hear these songs again. I was priveledged to see Jay Black at a recent concert. He performed "Cara Mia" hitting each and every note without modification. A wonderful man.

Jay & The Americans: COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER; THE BESTO OF JAY & THE AMERICANS

I have been in love with this wonderful band's mellow, yet moving sound since 1964, at least. Come A Little Bit Closer pulled me into their wonderous sound, but the song that digs deep into my soul is Cara Mia and of course, This Magic Moment, but my love doesn't stop there...Let's Lock The Door...

Jay at his all time best.

If you want to relive your days in the 60' use this CD to bring back old memories of what you were up to then. Fantastic, even better than before enhanced by CD quality.
