Always Got Tonight

Isaak's first album since his TV success, and first in four years, 'Always Got Tonight', marks a return to form for the singer-songwriter-guitarist with the smoldering retro-pop vibe who has previously earned four gold or platinum albums. Reprise Records.  more

Had to have it

Heard this album being played in a store in which I was shopping. Inquired who it was. Shopkeeper wrote it down for me and I rushed home to order it. I love it...love the songs and love the way they are played and absolutely love Chris Isaak's voice. I have almost worn it out playing it.

Waning

I really liked "Courthouse," One Day," and "Notice The Ring." Few if any other standouts. Chris Isaak seemed to be about out of ideas at this point. I don't know, maybe make a Christmas album?

His worst album.

I like Chris Isaak - and I have all his albums - but I can't listen to this one. It's just that bad. All the other albums have really strong songs - but these tunes are weak and lifeless...

Sweet, Rockin' & Original

I've spent many many hours listening to this man's music. He rocks, he sings sweet balads, does a little southwest fusion, and it's all done really well. Many hours four-wheeling in Wyoming with his music; what a perfect combo (cowboys, wide-open spaces, mountains...). But he still sounds great...

chris isaak continues to get better with age

i've always described chris isaak as elvis meets roy orbison. he's a modern day crooner who has become better with age. each album is generally better than the previous effort. imo, his latest, 'always got tonight' is his best yet and the album i felt he was capable of and have been expecting...

Chris Isaak, as expected...

Chris Isaak has a winning formula: A cross between Neo-Rockabilly and California Surfer Rock with a sensual voice and a pretty face. His fans, of which are many, love the catchy riffs and sensual ballads. He personifies Elvis and so many other earlier Rockabilly perfomers to a T. Except Chris...

Formulaic, average country-rock. Like a different guy.

Sigh. It was too good to be true. Chris Isaak was punching out albums with some of the most scintillating, original, tuneful and well-crafted songs for years. I looked forward to each new one with anticipation, and with the fear that his streak would end one day. That day has come. This is an...
