Classic Albums: Cream - Disraeli Gears (Dol)
CREAM was rock's first true "super group". Combining the extraordinary talents of ERIC CLAPTON, GINGER BAKER and JACK BRUCE, this power trio became the template for many hard rock acts of the seventies. The band remains a huge influence on the genre even to this day. Powered by hits such as "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love", Cream's second album, DISRAELI GEARS, moved the band beyond the blues into hard-driving, psychedelic pop. This was the album that not only broke the group in the United States but also established Clapton as an international superstar. This addition of Disraeli Gears to the acclaimed Classic Albums series features brand new interviews with Clapton, Baker and Bruce, along with lyricist Pete Brown, Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, John Mayall and Manfred Mann. Also included on the DVD are acoustic performances, original studio tracks and archival live footage. Tracklisting: Bonus Features:

Why Clapton is God & Cream ruled
The Disraeli Gears lp or Buffalo Springfield Again ? I chose Gears, loved Sunshine and the flourescent coverfit the zeitgeist(was a time a great cover broadcast it's content as the same). Beyond the folky Mother's Lamentit was wonderful to hear three masters explore rock. Too bad producer Felix...

I just want to warn anyone who thinks that this DVD contains footage of Cream performing their songs that they perform just one song, "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" -- and you won't find it by watching the movie. You have to click on "Bonus Selections" to find it.Otherwise, the movie is just...

An absolute must-have
I can't add to the superlatives which have been justly heaped upon this DVD. I only wish they'd covered Ginger Baker's composition "Blue Condition."

Great look behind the scenes
For anyone already familiar with this 'L.P', this documentary provides a lot of interesting information; I for one had no idea how much of a collaborative effort it was, in terms of songwriting credits, the art work and so on. For others not familiar with Cream or the late 60s, this may not...

A "me too" for a fantastic disc
I am not adding much to what's already been written. I've listened to this album countless times in the past 40 years and always marvel at its brilliance. After all this time I finally learned how the LP got its title, what "Take it back" was about, and the real meaning of SWLABR...I paid $11.99...

Buy it for the extras
Like the Classic Artist DVD on Cream, the extras (special features) of this disc are the most priceless. Highlights of these are the one-on-one close up footages of Clapton playing Sunshine and Outside Woman Blues on solo guitar, Jack playing We're Going Wrong on solo piano, and Ginger giving a...
