Hanon
Just as expected - as an adult beginner - this is a great way to begin to "program" the right fingers for the right note. Thanks for your prompt service.

an old friend
I loved getting this book of Hanon exercises, which I had 25 years ago, the last time I played the piano. I'm enjoying them every day.

buyer beware
This is a difficult and complete book of exercises. If you aspire to professional level piano ability but haven't studied much yet, forget this one. It is written for pros. It will take a lot of study to master it. But it's so complete, it's worth the tiny price. Highly recommended.

Do not wast your time
There is no piano technique is this book. I wasted tree years on this. There is no musical purpose on the exercices. Piano technique combines body movement with musical expression.

Great, but...
This is the definitive book for developing piano technique, bar none. The other reviews here will testify to this. I just have one warning...be careful about over doing it. I hurt my hand practicing the Hanon excercises too much. Resist the temptation and don't push yourself too hard....

An Indispensable Book for the Aspiring Pianist
As a pianist of twenty years and a piano teacher of ten, I highly recommend this book to any serious piano student. While the exercises may seem daunting at first glance, one soon realizes that the repetitive patterns are quite easy to play, even for fairly new pianists who are still learning...

A mustn't have!
Going against the grain here I would say DO NOT buy this book! I am a piano teacher and yes, I had to use this book in my younger days. Recent research, however, has shown that using this can potentially give you wrist problems such as RSI. Finger strength is not really a priority when learning...
